Permapedia is a new resource for permaculture designers or anyone who wants to create a sustainable lifestyle for themselves. Permapedia aims to become the first Permaculture encyclopaedia, it is written collaboratively by its readers.

Permapedia uses the same engine as Wikipedia so it is extremely easy for anyone to add new articles or edit existing pages. The site is still in it's early days so it might seem a little sparse at the moment, but with a little help from people like you it will grow to become invaluable.

**update**  since writing this article in  2006, Permapedia seems to have left the building. However. The very excellent PRI are establishing a similar thingamy under a Permapedia - masterclasses title, which involves in-depth articles on specific topics. Not much there at time of writing, but from little things, big things grow...

Someone over there needs to pay the bills for the wiki "This Account Has Been Suspended Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible." I was wanting to contribute some idea - as I came across "Bamboo Flooring" as a very environment friendly floring concept and general bamboo a (just after hemp) extremely fast growing natural fibre resource on the planet.
