Govinda Valley Retreat – 51 Lady Carrington Drive, Otford NSW
Govinda Valley Retreat is in Otford, nestled in the Illawarra escarpment. It’s one hour south of Sydney by train.
Outside class hours, students are welcome to explore the rainforest walks that leave from the venue, or hop on a train to the next stop, to explore nearby Stanwell Park’s beaches and beyond.
Getting there by train
Take the South coast line to Otford (1 hour south of Sydney Central). If you’re on the Otford train station platform facing west, you’re looking directly at the Govinda Valley property.
Govinda Valley is then an easy 5 minute walk from the train station: turn right at Otford Road, and right again at Lady Carrington Drive, and you’re there. You might need to take your shoes off to walk over the weir! All part of the fun.
Getting there by car
Take The M1 (princes Motorway) and get off at Helensburg, then follow the map to Otford, which is between Helensburg and the escarpment.
Alternatively, if you’re coming from the south you can take the coast road up Lawrence Hargrave Drive, with its spectacular costal views, and turn left onto Otford road just after the Stanwell Tops lookout.
There is ample parking onsite for cars.
*For OH&S reasons, pets are not permitted at Milkwood courses at Govinda Valley.
**Please note that, in accordance with the wishes of the venue, no meat, eggs of fish may be consumed onsite, and no smoking or alchohol are permitted on the property.
